Zombie island survival from Axyos Games
In Far Lands (out now on PS5), you crash-land on a small island packed with animals, zombies, and half-naked dudes with pistols who will drop you on sight—no questions asked. The core loop is solid: gather wood and rocks, build a house, then head out to explore. All the right ingredients to get me hooked.

The tutorial and starter missions are excellent. The game does a great job teaching you how to craft, build a shelter, and work your way up to getting electricity for your base. It’s a clear, step-by-step onboarding that should help anyone new to the game get a real feel for what it offers.

There’s only one issue holding me back from clearing the entire island right now: no inverted controls. Who ports a game to console without that option? I toughed it out for four hours playing with my hands completely backwards. Back in the day the fix was just flipping the controller upside down, but that only creates problems later when you jump into another FPS and your muscle memory is wrecked.
All in all, Far Lands has real potential. Once inverted controls get added to the PlayStation version, I’ll be right back to finish the game—and build a massive base. If inverted aiming doesn’t bother you, go check it out on PS5 today.

You can watch my First Look livestream replay below. I go through the entire tutorial and starter quests. gg.
